Description

Based at Burnside Primary School, Carnoustie.

You will work 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term time only (195 days).

This job is temporary until no later than 29 June 2022.

Internal and external applications on a secondment basis will be considered. You must have the approval of your line manager / organisation.

Essential criteria

  • Two standard grades or equivalent, one of which must be English, or a relevant SVQ Level 1 or NC or relevant experience
  • Moving and handling trained or a willingness to undertake such training
  • First aid trained or a willingness to undertake such training
  • Willingness to undertake training in administration of medicines when required
  • Willingness to undertake mandatory information governance training
  • Good oral communication skills
  • Good written communication skills
  • Good numeracy skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to work unsupervised and use own initiative
  • Inclusive attitude towards children and young people with varying support needs
  • Awareness of the need for confidentiality
  • Empathy and a commitment to children and young people
  • A flexible approach to work across all areas to meet need
  • Ability to become a member of the PVG Scheme
  • Registration with SSSC (Scottish Social Services Council) if working in an early years setting or ability/willingness to register







Desirable criteria

  • Professional Development Award in Additional Support Needs or equivalent
  • An awareness of Additional Support Needs and how this can affect child development
  • Experience of assisting children and young people with personal care
  • Experience of working with children and young people in an educational or similar environment
  • Awareness of strategies to support children and young people with a range of needs
  • Competent in the use of Information technology
  • Good organizational skills
  • Experience of dealing with the public
